UPDATE … Drowning victim Identified

IMG_3730MUSCLE SHOALS -Colbert County Coroner Carlton Utley identified the man as Kenneth Harold Green, of 114 Emmons Lane. Utley could not give an exact age, but said the victim was in his early 70s.

“It appears to be an accidental drowning,” says Utley.

Eyewitness reports say at about 11:00 o’clock this morning, a fisherman fell into the swift water beneath Wilson Dam’s spillways and lost his life. The Quad-Cities Daily was on the scene as the victim’s body was being recovered by fellow fishermen.

DPP_0016According to Colbert County Carlton Utley who is still on scene at the Rockpiles fishing area, the man was in his mid-50’s to mid-60’s in age. His identity has not yet been confirmed.

Colbert County EMA rescue personnel were assisted by Florence Fire-Rescue in the recovery operation.
